By the end of the month, some streamers are completely out of fresh movies to watch. But that’s a fate that Peacock escaped in November.
Although Peacock won’t be able to add Wicked: For Good until sometime in 2026, there’s another newly arrived musical that should fill the gap for this week at least.
The musical in question is one of Watch With Us‘ picks for the three great Peacock movies to binge-watch this weekend.
Our remaining choices for the week are an underrated thriller and a sci-fi blockbuster that doubles as a comedy.
‘Inside’ (2023)
Willem Dafoe delivers a powerful performance as Nemo in Inside, and there’s rarely a moment when he’s not the only actor onscreen. Nero is a talented art thief who has made elaborate plans to infiltrate the high-rise penthouse of a wealthy collector and relieve him of his most valuable paintings.
Unfortunately for Nero, he makes a costly mistake that leaves him trapped inside the apartment with little food or water to sustain him for an extended period. Nero has what he came for, but no way to leave, which causes his health and sanity to erode. And if he doesn’t find a solution fast, this penthouse may be Nero’s final resting place.
Inside is streaming on Peacock.
‘Les Misérables’ (2012)
To find a live-action movie musical that’s hit anywhere near the level of Wicked: For Good, you’ll have to go back 13 years to the Christmas release of Les Misérables. Adapting the novel by Victor Hugo and the Broadway musical was no easy feat for director Tom Hopper, but the results speak for themselves. Hugh Jackman leads the cast as Jean Valjean, a man who has been haunted for decades by Javert (Russell Crowe), a French policeman who is convinced that Valjean is a hardened criminal.
In 19th-century France, Valjean’s life is constantly uprooted when Javert gets close to uncovering his true identity. Valjean also takes it upon himself to help a desperate woman, Fantine (Anne Hathaway, giving an Oscar-winning performance), and he even raises Fantine’s daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried), as his own. But against the backdrop of a revolution, Valjean may not be able to protect Cosette or her true love, Marius Pontmercy (Eddie Redmayne).

‘Men in Black’ (1997)
The original Men in Black is so well-executed and hilarious that it almost feels tragic that the diminishing returns of the sequels have led the franchise to be abandoned by both Sony and Marvel. Very few people read the independent comic books that inspired the movie, but Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith‘s performances lifted this flick into mega-hit territory.
Smith plays James Darrell Edwards III, an unconventional and gifted police officer who stumbles upon the existence of aliens. James is so impressive to Agent K that he recruits him into the Men in Black, an organization designed to defend Earth from alien threats. James leaves his whole life behind to become Agent J, as he and K are thrust into a world-ending crisis. Medical examiner Laurel Weaver (Linda Fiorentino) is also close to learning the truth about aliens, but she may not live long enough to share the revelation when she meets Edgar (Vincent D’Onofrio), an alien bug masquerading as a human.
