Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is easily the biggest story of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Considered by many to be one of the best quarterbacks available in the Draft, Sanders shockingly fell to the fifth round and was selected behind five other QBs.

Still, Sanders eventually got the call from the Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 pick, putting him in a crowded QB room with Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow draftee Dillon Gabriel.
Despite this, Sanders’ hopes seem to be high, and his former teammate couldn’t be happier for him.
Former Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter was seen celebrating his teammate’s selection, shouting “Yes sir!” and “Let’s get it!”
Hunter, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and a dual threat at cornerback and wide receiver, was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
In his final season at Colorado, Hunter made 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also recorded 36 combined tackles, 11 pass deflections, four interceptions, and one forced fumble on defense.

Sanders was expected to go around the same spot, with some experts predicting at one point that he was a Top 5 pick. However, this wasn’t the case, and the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders plummeted in the draft.
Needless to say, plenty of people were dumbfounded by the the fall, including three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, who called the situation “crazy.”
Even President Donald Trump got in on the action, calling NFL owners “stupid” for not picking up Sanders in the Draft.

In his final season with the Colorado Buffaloes, Sanders 353 of his 477 passes (74 percent) for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, finishing eighth in Heisman Trophy voting and winning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.
In his two years with Colorado, Sanders threw for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
Needless to say, Sanders now finds himself in a peculiar position, joining a team that has a bevy of quarterback options
