Sophie Turner’s flirting skills are pretty legendary, but that hasn’t always worked in her favor.
Turner, 29, appeared on the Thursday, August 14, episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote her upcoming movie Trust. The actress and host Seth Meyers also looked back at a Comic Con afterparty they attended a decade prior.
“It was right when Game of Thrones was taking off and it is so fun to meet a cast when they know it’s working,” Meyers, 51, explained. “You guys were just in high spirits.”
Turner agreed that the cast was indeed in “high spirits” but noted that a lot more went down that evening than just celebrating.
“That night was actually quite crazy for me,” she recalled. “It went really south really quick.”
Teasing that she “can’t name names,” Turner told a story about accidentally causing drama between an A-list couple at the event.
“I brought my best friend from my school days with me, and she saw this actor that she loved,” Turner recalled, noting that her friend asked to say hi, so they waved. “Later on, I see this girl looking at me and she’s a famous actress.”
Turner was a fan of the unnamed star and approached her.
“I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop f***ing flirting with my fiancé?’ I was like, ‘Who’s your fiancé?’ She points to the guy that I’d waved at,” Turner recalled. “I have no idea who this man is.”
She added, “Turns out, I think they broke their engagement off that night because of my [wave]. I didn’t realize I held this power.”
Years later, Turner has made headlines for her own love life. The actress was married to Joe Jonas for four years before he filed for divorce in September 2023. She has since moved on with Peregrine Pearson.
Shortly before appearing on the late night show, Turner made a rare comment about coparenting with Jonas, 36, while clapping back at mom-shamers. (Turner and Jonas share two daughters: Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3.)
“Bucket hats & beers. That’ll do me. Thank you @levis,” Turner captioned an Instagram post earlier this month, showing off her fun experience at the Oasis concert in London.
“Lmfao I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” one commenter wrote.
Turner wasted no time firing back. “Ah, I’m so sorry, sometimes, I forget some people can’t think for themselves,” she quipped. “So, get this … There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”
