The woman allegedly murdered overnight in a north Brisbane home has been identified as Carra Luke.
The death prompted police to set up two crime scenes more than 10 kilometres apart, and a man has been taken into custody for questioning.
Luke, believed to be 48 years old, was found by emergency teams in a home on Osprey Place in Taigum about 12.30am on Saturday.
She had reportedly suffered serious injuries.
Investigations led police to a home on Hackman Street in McDowall about 40 minutes later.
A 52-year-old man was located inside and began “assisting” with inquiries.
Both properties were roped off and declared crime scenes.
