Carlos Boozer has found his queen with Janaye Robinson.
During the Sunday, September 14, season finale of Kings Court, the NBA legend gifted his girlfriend a promise ring as they vowed to move forward in their relationship. Now, the couple are giving Us Weekly an exclusive update on where they stand.
“The promise was just to be all about her and all about us. I poured everything into this relationship,” Carlos, 43, shared with Us. “When the finale airs on Sunday the 14th, that’s actually the day that I asked her to be my girlfriend. That’s our one-year anniversary. This entire year, it was just a promise that I was going to pour everything I had into our relationship moving forward because I really want us to have a chance to go all the way — get married, have kids, move in, the whole happy ending that we all want in life.”
Although cameras have stopped rolling, both Carlos and Janaye, 33, agree that they are “locked in” and “committed” to making their romance work.
“[I’ve seen] your actions on a day-to-day basis even now and just throughout this whole year of how genuinely I feel deep down that you really are just all about me,” Janaye shared alongside her boyfriend. “There are a lot of people who will say that to your face, but you really have shown that every single day. You choose me and I love you for that.”
Hosted by Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete, season 1 of Kings Court featured Carlos, Tyson Beckford and WWE legend Thaddeus “Titus O’Neil” Bullard searching for their queens among 21 single ladies.
While both Carlos and Titus, 48, ended the season with a partner, Tyson, 54, declined to pursue one of the contestants.
When the finale aired Sunday on Bravo, Carlos and Janaye were expected to be celebrating their anniversary in Napa, California.
“We’re just going to be living our best life, basically,” Janaye teased. “We’ll watch the show, and then go to dinner and just celebrate. It’ll be a great day.”
After a year of keeping their relationship out of the spotlight and away from the public eye, both Carlos and Janaye are ready for whatever comes next in their love story.
“We literally skipped going to The Hamptons this summer so nobody would see us,” Carlos revealed to Us.
Janaye added while laughing, “That’s a huge thing for me. I’m a Hamptons summer girl. I love Duryea’s [restaurant] and lobster rolls. I’m like, ‘You’re telling me I’m sacrificing my Hamptons summer to keep this show quiet?’” All in the game of love!
