Laneway Festival has confirmed its 2026 dates, and in doing so, confirmed its snubbing of Brisbane.
The popular music festival plans to skip Brisbane for the first time, instead, setting up camp at Southport Sharks precinct on the Gold Coast on February 7.

Why? On the announcement Instagram post, the festival confirmed the change was due to the Brisbane site preparing for the 2032 Olympics.
“We look forward to making a new home at Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast,” the post read.
Fans, however, weren’t too excited by the change.
“Moving the festival from Brisbane to the Gold Coast is crazy work,” one person commented.
“The biggest crime of 2025 is getting rid of Brisbane,” another wrote.
