The Dallas Cowboys suffered a brutal loss on the road against the Chicago Bears in Week 3 NFL action. Unfortunately, they also saw star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb go down with an ankle injury during the loss.
Fans have been wondering just how severe the injury could end up being. Will he miss more time moving forward?
That scenario does seem likely barring a surprising positive update from the Cowboys.

At this time, there has been no clarification on the exact injury or the severity of the injury. However, a sports doctor has weighed in with a best and worst-case scenario for Lamb moving forward.
Dr. Evan Jeffries took to X to share two possible outcomes for Lamb. If the sprain is more mild, he could miss between one and two weeks. But, if the injury is more severe, a four to six week recovery timeline could be the outcome.
“Ceedee Lamb left today’s game with possible ‘High ankle sprain’ Timeline to return is dependent on severity. Grade I: 1-2 weeks. Grade II: 4-6 weeks,” Jeffries wrote.
Lamb is a huge focal point for the Dallas offense and is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Losing him for any amount of time would be a tough blow for the Cowboys.
Next week, Dallas will be facing a very tough opponent. The Cowboys will play host to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Winning that game won’t be easy, but winning it without Lamb would be even more difficult.
It sure sounds like Lamb is in major danger of missing some time. Hopefully, Dallas gets a better update than what the injury appeared to be.
So far this season through the first three weeks, the 26-year-old wideout has caught 16 passes for 222 yards, although he did not record a single statistic against the Bears in Week 3.

Last season, Lamb put together a great season for the Cowboys. He caught 101 passes for 1,194 and six touchdowns. Back in 2023, he racked up 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.
More information should be known about Lamb’s injury in the near future. For now, it doesn’t sound like great news for Dallas as the team enters Week 4 of the 2025 season.
