A multimillion-dollar Airbnb property is at the centre of a police investigation in Brisbane’s west, where two bodies were found on Monday afternoon.
Officers who attended the property in Kenmore Hills about lunchtime for a welfare check discovered two bodies at the house, believed to be a mother and child.
Police were yet to confirm the relationship between the pair, but said the 54-year-old Norman Park woman and eight-year-old girl were known to each other.
Forensic teams remained at the property on Tuesday morning, with detectives continuing their doorknocking of residents in the area.
About midday, the owner of the property arrived at the scene, and spoke with police briefly, but declined to officially comment to reporters.
A couple living across the road, who did not wish to be named, said they knew the owners, who had rented out the house on Airbnb.

They said they did not hear anything from the house yesterday.
“It’s just unbelievable … it’s a very quiet neighbourhood,” the neighbour said.
