In a viral Instagram video, a Siberian husky named Hachi spots his owner fixing his truck in the yard: what he does next melts hearts on social media.
The heartwarming clip, shared in September by @hachithehuskyyy, shows the poster, Izai Sanchez, working on his truck when Hachi, shows up out of nowhere and lies down beside him, so that he can use him as a pillow. “This is why I will always love dogs more than humans,” Sanchez writes in the clip.
“He’s super happy to be my pillow; just loves spending time with dad. He can’t pass the wrench, but still such a good helper,” Sanchez continues.
“They literally just want to be around you. They want your love and nothing else. They can’t pass you tools or hold the flashlight … But they’ll stay by your side and never leave.”
Sanchez told Newsweek: “The moment felt incredibly wholesome and symbolic of the deep companionship that dogs bring, always wanting to be close, supportive, and present.”
He described it as a reminder of how “dogs truly love unconditionally, without caring about wealth, appearance, or status, but purely about being by your side.”
Dog owners love their pups unconditionally, but do canines love their humans back? The experts at Vet Explains Pets say the answer is yes.
While it is true that dogs depend on us for food and shelter, that doesn’t mean that their love and affection aren’t genuine.
Canines don’t experience love the same way as we do, but there are some behaviors you can look out for if you want to know whether your dog loves you back.
If they greet you at the door, wagging their tail, they snuggle up to you and try to spend most of their waking day with you, it is very likely that your pup truly loves you.
The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 2.4 million views and more than 377,000 likes on the platform.
One user, La30132, commented: “I love dogs that just come by to let you know that they are there. Greatest love in the world.”
Joshinkc posted: “My husky does this too. He loves just being around me.”
Freedomfightingmomusa added: “That’s how he guards you. You’re vulnerable laying there. So he’s protecting you.”
