Former adult film star Jenna Jameson is opening up about her personal transformation and what she hopes others will learn from her journey.
“After decades of being known for my body and sin, getting baptized and helping others find Jesus too,” Jameson, 51, wrote over an Instagram reel of the adult entertainer looking at the camera before mouthing the words “switching sides.”
“Crack the Bible… you won’t regret it,” Jameson captioned the Sunday, November 9, post, along with a cross emoji.
The actress, born Jennifer Marie Massoli, chose her entertainer name from a phone book and the popular Irish whiskey brand. She got her start in the adult entertainment industry via exotic dancing and appearances in adult magazines, including Penthouse, Hustler and Cheri.
Jameson shot to fame as a pornographic actress before making the transition to mainstream media with appearances on The Howard Stern Show and The Apprentice. The actress also lent her voice to various video games.
In 2008, Jameson announced her retirement from the adult entertainment industry at the 2008 AVN Awards.
“I will never, ever, ever spread my legs again in this industry,” Jameson declared at the time. “Ever!”
Jameson later returned to the adult entertainment industry in 2013, though she has yet to perform any pornographic scenes for any studios as promised. Instead, she appeared on MyFreeCams, a community of online sex workers, and at an adult entertainment show in New Jersey to sign autographs and greet fans.
In 2015, Jameson converted to Judaism, and in 2019 announced she was leaving X, formerly known as Twitter, citing rampant anti-semitism.
“I want to clarify why I’m leaving,” Jameson wrote at the time. “My sobriety and faith are the most important things to me. I am being attacked for my faith. Being Jewish. I must protect my love for God above everything, my sobriety and strength stem from him and his grace.”
The actress announced she had “found her faith again,” and had apparently converted back to a faction of Christianity, in 2025.
“18 vs 51 I’ve definitely been through a lot, but I’m thankful. I’ve found my faith again and I’m so at peace. My belief in the most high has led me to strength I never knew I had,” Jameson wrote via Instagram in September 2025, sharing side-by-side photos of the author at both 18 and 51 years of age.
The post came months after Jameson and her wife, Jessie Lawless, announced their split after 11 months of marriage.
“She tried to rekindle the relationship multiple times but I was unwilling to entertain her advances,” Lawless said in a statement to People in February 2025. “She moved around several times staying with a friend in Chicago and then with another friend in California and then she was in Las Vegas for a little while, but she was hard to keep up with so getting her served was challenging.” (Jameson shares three children with her exes, Tito Ortiz and Lior Bitton.)
In March, Jameson “hard launched” her new relationship following the split.
“Hard launch…” Jameson wrote via Instagram alongside a selfie with Mil R. Ocampo, who described themselves as an “author & voice actor of upcoming literary fiction novel” and “Happily Taken” in their Instagram bio.
