Marc Anthony is going to be a dad for the eighth time.
The singer, 57, and his wife, Nadia Ferreira, announced on Wednesday, January 28, that they are expecting their second baby — Anthony’s eighth — together.
“Happy 3rd anniversary!! What a great gift life gives us,” the duo captioned a joint Instagram post sharing the news and celebrating their third wedding anniversary. “God is great ✨ Marquito is going to be a big brother. ❤️.”
The post included a photo of Ferreira’s pregnant belly held by Anthony and their son, Marco, 2.
Anthony and Ferreira, 26, tied the knot in January 2023 after getting engaged the year prior. They welcomed their first child, Marco, in June 2023.
Anthony is the father of six other children from three previous relationships. He shares daughter Arianna, 31, and son Chase, 28, with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado. He later welcomed sons Cristian, 24, and Ryan, 22, with first wife Dayanara Torres. Anthony and Torres, 51, split in 2004 after four years of marriage.
Anthony and his second wife, Jennifer Lopez, welcomed twins Max and Emme, now 17, in February 2008. Lopez, 56, and Anthony split in 2011 after seven years of marriage.
Anthony then moved on with third wife Shannon De Lima, whom he married in November 2014. They separated two years later but never had children together.
Before marrying Ferreira, Anthony admitted that he wished he’d spent more time with his older children as they were growing up.
“The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time. What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad, and, you know, witnessed every second of everything,” Anthony said in an April 2016 interview with CBS Sunday Morning. “I would have loved that. Didn’t work out that way. So it’s the one thing that just tugs at me … that’s the biggest sacrifice. And you sort of start to wonder, was it all worth it? Was it worth it?”
Years later, Anthony gushed about how much he loved mentoring Emme, whom he shares with Lopez. Emme has followed in their parents’ footsteps by dabbling in music too, accompanying Lopez on stage at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2020.
“Music was a big part of my life growing up and I hope it does the same for [Emme] as it has done for me,” Anthony said in a June 2019 interview with iHeartRadio’s Enrique Santos. “And if that is what [Emme] wants to do … well, [they] should do it because [Emme] likes it, not because [Emme] has to. Not for fame, or popularity, or for likes.”
When Anthony asked Emme what they liked about singing, Emme said they enjoyed it because it “feels good.” Anthony added, “It’s the best response.”
After Emme performed at the Super Bowl, Anthony praised his child via social media, sharing a photo of Emme on stage singing during the halftime show. “Emme Daddy is so proud of you. You are my ❤ and I am forever yours,” he tweeted in February 2020.
