A teenage girl died and an elderly woman was hospitalized after a devastating fire ripped through a Hollywood home early Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
More than 40 firefighters rushed to the scene after the blaze erupted at the home at 1760 N. Vista Del Mar Avenue just before 3 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters pulled two victims out of the home — a 15-year-old girl who died at the scene, and a 70-year-old woman who was rushed to the hospital in “grave condition,” the LAFD said.
Offiicials initially reported that both victim had died, but Capt. Cody Weireter later clarified that first responders were able to revive the 70-year-old en route to the hospital, according to ABC 7.
Neither victim has been identified.
Firefighters were able to extinguish flames in under 20 minutes, according to the department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
