The Canadian men’s curling team apparently didn’t learn their lesson.
Just 24 hours after they were accused of cheating in the form of double-touching the stone during their match against Sweden on Friday. The incident resulted in Canadian captain Marc Kennedy lashing out in an expletive-laden rant after Sweden’s Oskar Eriksson confronted him about his actions.
Kennedy denied any wrongdoing while using some colorful language to tell Eriksson to buzz off — which resulted in Kennedy receiving a warning from World Curling that further inappropriate behavior could lead to a suspension.

With all eyes firmly on Team Canada during its match against Switzerland on Saturday, the team allegedly reverted to its underhanded ways as a member of Team Switzerland claims he saw Canada double-touching the stone again in a video that’s garnering quite a bit of attention on social media.
“The referee saw it, and I told him, ‘You saw that?’ and he didn’t answer anything,” the Swiss curler said.
“It was a double touch?” a coach asked him.
“Yes [it was a double touch] I saw it; I saw it,” he responded. “You can see it if you like.”

After the match, Kennedy and the rest of the Canadian team denied the cheating allegations again, claiming they’re being set up, according to Jonny Wakefield of the Edmonton Journal.
“DEVELOPMENT: Marc Kennedy and other Canadians speaking post game, say this was a set up — that officials or someone with the Swedish team was filming the hotline from the stands to make this an issue. This vid sent to me clearly shot from stands. Not supposed to film in Oly venue,” Wakefield wrote on X.
The incident didn’t affect the outcome of the match — Switzerland topped the Canadians 9-5 — but their complaint may prompt action to be taken by either World Curling or the International Olympic Committee.
It was rumored on Reddit that a judge allegedly saw Canada’s double touch on Friday but did nothing about it. If a similar second incident occurred less than 24 hours later, it’s possible the bad press may force some form of punishment for Canada.
