This granola mom is taking things to a whole other holistic level.
In a head-scratching social media video, posted by Massachusetts health spa Caney Salt + Wellness Studio, a mom’s voice is heard saying, “I salt my kiddos and you should too,” as she’s seen tidying up a room filled with, you guessed it — salt.
“I used to think boosting our immune systems was the goal — more vitamins, more supplements, more everything. But what I’ve learned living with asthma, severe allergies, and watching out for flare-ups is that an immune system on overdrive isn’t strong.”
“…halotherapy [a form of alternative medicine which makes use of salt] helps to clear that, so their immune system settles, responds when it needs to, rest when it doesn’t…” the crunchy mom continued as clips of her and her son are seen hanging out in a room with salt all over the floor (sounds like some people’s nightmare).
Technically, halotherapy lacks some scientific credibility, so it’s no surprise that many in the comment section of the video thought it was some woo-woo approach to keeping people, including kids, healthy.
“Hey so this is insane.”
“Anything but going to the doctor.”
“LIMITED clinic evidence for any of this – also has nothing to do with having salt for sand….so I’d take this mom’s health recommendation with [a] grain of salt.”
“I can’t even buy a house and this…. Has a salt room.”
How someone chooses to parent their child is a personal choice. While some are salting their kids, others are keeping their youngsters on a bizarre, reverse schedule.
One stay-at-home mom married to a district attorney who usually gets home from work on the late side, has her family eat together after 8 p.m. before beginning their nighttime routine, which often includes a cleaning up followed by an evening walk and bathtime, which is usually a little after midnight, according to a viral video the mom posted with time stamps.
“They wake up just fine” — usually around 10:30 a.m.,” Boazman told Newsweek in an interview. “I have to tell them to get up a few times but once they’re out of bed, they’re perfect for the rest of the day.”
And once again people sounded off in the comment section.
“This is chaotic. I can’t imagine growing up in this chaos.”
“This is my worst nightmare.”
While other agreed with her unusual routine.
“Thank God there is other families that don’t make their kids go to bed at 7 and have a day routine I’m winging this thing called motherhood & life.”
“We do something similar! in bed by midnight. it’s amazing because early mornings at the woooorst.”
“Why I homeschool…we get to decide our schedule and our lifestyle. We are night owls too.”
