A woman’s late night trip to In-N-Out Burger was seemingly gatecrashed by a triumphant Michael B. Jordan, fresh from having just won his first Academy Award.
In a video posted to TikTok under the handle @dianaamonet, Diana Monet shared footage of the moment Jordan dropped by for a quick bite after winning the Best Actor Oscar for Sinners.
“Michael B Jordan walking in with his Oscar while we’re eating our in n out,” Monet wrote alongside the video.
Jordan received a hero’s welcome. Monet said in the comments: “Everyone stood on tables they took it a bit too far if you ask me (I got scared).”
The actor was joined by a stream of photographers, who snapped away as he posed at the counter with his golden statuette. Those watching on TikTok were in awe. “Imagine being front row for the king,” one viewer wrote in the comments. “Manifested this,” Monet replied. “Literally insane,” another viewer wrote, with a third commenting: “omgggg [oh my God] amazing moment.”
In a second clip posted to Monet’s TikTok, she can be heard calling out to Jordan, shouting “Congrats! Love you” over the din of cheers from fellow diners. Jordan acknowledges her comments, smiling and waving in Monet’s direction as he continues to pose for pictures.
Many of those commenting on the second video were in awe of the fact Monet actually interacted with Jordan on what is the biggest night of his career to date. “Not jealous at all,” one viewer wrote. “What a win! For both you and him,” another said, with a third adding: “Whatttt omg I am beyond jealous.” A fourth, meanwhile, wrote: “This is such a cool moment.”
Newsweek has contacted Monet for comment.
Jordan’s late-night visit to In-N-Out Burger was confirmed by another customer who took to X to share pictures and a video of the moment the Hollywood A-lister came in to enjoy a well-earned bite.
Why Was Michael B. Jordan at In-N-Out Burger?
While the sight of a major star in any fast-food restaurant is always likely to turn heads, Jordan’s visit to this particular branch of In-N-Out Burger would not have necessarily come as a huge surprise to anyone in the know.
Writing about the visit for SFGate, Paula Mejía, contributing LA culture editor, said that “In-N-Out Burger has been a synonymous, albeit unofficial, part of the Academy Awards for years.”
“With a location just blocks from the Oscars’ home at the Dolby Theatre, the burger chain’s proximity to Hollywood’s biggest night has spurred a tradition unique to Los Angeles: After the ceremony, Oscar winners have often eventually made their way over to the fast-food staple.”
Meija cites actor Paul Giamatti and former Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel among those to have made the trip down the years.
The reaction to the Jordan In-N-Out Burger visit comes as fans continue to digest and debate his Best Actor victory. While many were delighted to see Jordan beat out Timothee Chalamet to an Oscar, discussion among film critics and experts is ongoing as to whether the Academy got it right.
