With “WrestleMania 42” fast approaching, WWE star Paul Heyman is dropping his bold prediction for the show.
“It’s going to be a special two nights,” the WWE Hall-of-Famer tells Newsweek of the event, which takes place Saturday, Apr.18 and Sunday, April 19.
“Not only do you get a chance to see Brock Lesnar conquer Oba Femi, but one way or another, you will get to witness the end of Seth Rollins’ run in WWE, and that’s something that I not only desire to make happen, I’m rather obsessed with that happening as well.”
Something else Heyman’s obsessed by is the quality of WWE’s latest game, “WWE 2K26.” When asked what feedback he had for the development team, Heyman responds, “anything and everything.”
“I set very high standards for any product that I’m associated with … When they started to tell me the plans for WWE 2K26, I was blown away by it. Just by the whole concept of MyRise. Which I think is one of the greatest advents in video games of the past 20 years.”
MyRise is a dedicated story mode in which players guide a created character through their WWE journey, backstage drama and all. It dovetails with Netflix’s behind-the-scenes documentary “WWE Unreal,” now in its second season, which also gives viewers prime access to a side of the business long kept secret.
“As much as the old-school performer in me that broke in during a time where this was a very secretive industry, it’s no longer that way. And you either grow with the times or you get left behind.”
“There’s always been that joke inside the writer’s room, ‘Boy. They should put the cameras in here, this is where the real drama is.’ And now they do … I don’t consider it an exposé on the business. I consider it a chance for the public to be enlightened as to just how intricate this industry is.”
As for what exactly will happen at “WrestleMania 42,” Heyman of course already knows. In fact, he’s confident enough to let slip a spoiler (albeit, one generated by “WWE 2K26”).
“I have been playing out this actual scenario within WWE 2K26,” he says, “and it’s going to be a very bad weekend for Seth Rollins.”
Where to Watch ‘WrestleMania 42’
