A man has been charged with murder after he was involved in a California car crash that killed a pregnant woman and her boyfriend.
Marshall Campbell Judson has been charged with two counts of murder, one count each of murder of a human fetus, assault upon a peace officer or firefighter, carrying a concealed, loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle and three counts of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle causing death, according to the criminal complaint viewed by ABC 7.
The Pomona Police Department said that officers responded to a home on April 1 at 9:30 p.m. after they received a call about a domestic violence incident.
“When officers arrived and were speaking with the victim, the suspect returned to the location in a truck, driving recklessly and intentionally struck a parked patrol vehicle,” police said in a statement, per the outlet. “The suspect then fled the scene, initiating a police pursuit.”
Officers then chased the suspect south on Garey Avenue, where he ran into a car near the intersection of Garey Avenue and County Road.
Both people in the car — Jennifer Loera-Zarco, 25, and Marc Trejo Saldivar, 26 — were pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. Both victims died from blunt force trauma.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office confirmed that Loera-Zarco was pregnant, while Saldivar was identified as her boyfriend.
Following the crash, Judson, 31, was arrested late on the night of April 1.
Judson made his first court appearance on Monday, April 6, and he is scheduled to return to court for his arraignment on April 28. He is currently being held without bail.
It is not currently clear if Judson has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following his arrest.
Following the fatal car crash, loved ones of Loera-Zarco and Saldivar set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
“We are devastated to share the tragic and unexpected passing of our beloved cousin Marc Anthony Trejo, lovingly known as Tiger, his loving girlfriend Jennifer Alejandra Loera Zarco, and their unborn child on April 1, 2026,” the page read.
The post continued, “This unimaginable loss has left our family heartbroken. Marc Anthony was a kind, loving and genuine person who meant so much to everyone who knew him. Jennifer was just as special, full of love, warmth, and kindness. Together, they were building a future and excited to welcome their baby boy into this world.”
“Losing all three of them at once is something no family is ever prepared for,” the page added.
