Danielle Fishel still fits into her prom dress 26 years later.
Fishel, 44, took to Instagram on Monday, April 20, to recreate her senior prom look with ex-boyfriend Lance Bass. In a reel, the Boy Meets World alum rocked her exact 1999 prom dress while posing with Bass, 46. Her white dress featured a fitted top that tied in the back with cutouts over her side and a long shirt complete with a thigh-high slit.
Just like her actual prom look, Fishel completed her look with silver heels. She further accessorized with a delicate bracelet and necklace.
For glam, Fishel rocked dewy skin, rosy cheeks, pink lips and long lashes. Her blonde hair was styled in a half-up hairdo with her face-framing pieces curled.
Bass, for his part, looked sharp in a black suit. The duo matched with a white rose boutonniere and corsage.
Fishel leaned into Bass while he embraced her and then removed his hand from her back, recreating the exact “hoverhand” photo from their actual prom.
“We recreated our 1999 Prom pic, hoverhand and all (and yes, that’s the ACTUAL dress!) I still don’t know why we didn’t work out!!” Fishel captioned the post. (Fishel and Bass dated for a year in 1999 through 2000. He later came out as gay in 2006.) Her celebrity friends and fans gushed over the moment in the comments section.
“Not the hand hover reenactment 😭,” David Archuleta wrote. Brylee Armstrong added, “Danielle this is ICONIC😂.” Bass also commented, “Happy prom season!”
More of her fans laughed along with the friends, writing, “Even the hover hand 😂😂👏👏 iconic!!!!” Another commented, “THE SAME DRESS? what a flex on multiple levels,” while a third added, “How did you both manage to get hotter?! 🔥.”
Fishel previously opened up about their romance during an April 2023 episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast.
“I thought I was going to marry Lance,” she recalled. “I had envisioned our future. I held onto for hope for way too long that Lance and I were going to get back together and get married and have a family.”
“Lance and I had a very wonderful, very warm, loving relationship but it was completely lacking of intimacy. Intimacy in the romantic sense,” Fishel explained. “We shared all of our feelings, and we shared family stuff and we were very intimate emotionally, but we were not physically intimate.”
