An 89-year-old grandfather has recounted the terrifying moment he was dragged from his car in his own driveway and thrown to the ground before the alleged thief took off with his Mercedes.
Ken had just arrived home from lunch with his wife when they were ambushed in their Armadale driveway on Tuesday.
“Panic I guess, panic. Just to try and stop it,” he said.
“And I fought with him there, opened the door three or four times to try and get him out but my strength of trying to move someone half my age – it was pretty hard.”
The alleged thief took off with his Mercedes and Ken was taken to hospital suffering a bruised hip and grazed wrist.
His wife is still too terrified to sleep at home.
“He did not speak at all,” Ken said.
“He reversed the car out across the road and my wife was telling me ‘let it go’, don’t chase it up.
