The San Antonio Spurs responded to an embarrassing end to Game 3 after opening up a 15-0 lead to start the game only to lose by putting together a stout defensive effort en route to a 103-82 victory.
Victor Wembanyama dropped 33 points with eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks in the win. After the game, he admitted the team didn’t do anything unexpected in winning the contest, but just did what the team needed to do to secure victory.
“We didn’t do nothing unexpected, but the truth is we had never been in this kind of situation before,” Wembanyma said. “It was our first deficit in a playoff series, and we just responded. But it was nothing amazing. It wasn’t magic. We just did what we needed to do. The series is far from over. We’ve got [to get] six more wins before we can rest.”

San Antonio opened a 50-38 halftime lead thanks to a 40-foot first-half buzzer-beater from Wembanyama. The Spurs staved off any hope of a comeback by winning all four quarters of the game to even the series at two games apiece as the Western Conference Finals shifts back to Oklahoma City for Game 5.
Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was held to just 19 points, which was a team-high on Sunday night.
