Taylor Swift is releasing a brand new song that will be featured in Pixar’s upcoming movie “Toy Story 5.”
On June 1, the “Elizabeth Taylor” singer, 36, announced on Instagram that the new song “I Knew It, I Knew You” will be featured in the film and confirmed that the track will be released on June 5.
“It’s a ‘Toy Story’ 🤠. You knew it,” Swift wrote in her caption. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5-year-old kid watching the first ‘Toy Story’ movie.” Swift also noted that she originally saw the film in its “early stages” and that she “fell instantly in love” with the film.
“I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening,” she noted. “Sometimes you just know, right?”
The latest announcement comes after fans speculated that Swift was involved with the film when she teased a “Toy Story”-themed countdown on her website, which was quickly taken down. Later in May, the “Toy Story 5” filmmakers also addressed the speculation in an interview, where director Andrew Stanton said they’d love to have Swift involved.
“It surprised us,” he said in the interview, and added that, “We’d be frickin’ honored.”
“The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week,” he continued. “And the song at the end of that was not Taylor Swift’s song.”

On May 31, the Pixar and “Toy Story” Instagram accounts teased the official announcement and shared photos of “Toy Story”-themed billboards with the letters “TS” that had popped up across several cities.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” is now available for pre-order on Swift’s website, and includes three collector’s editions, which feature “unique vocals and productions” of the new song.
Swift will also join Bad Bunny as the other musician involved in the new “Toy Story” movie. The Grammy-winning “DtMF” singer will make a cameo in the film as Pizza with Sunglasses, who’s described as “a member of a small but mighty community of forgotten toys that live in an abandoned backyard shed,” per PEOPLE.
“Toy Story 5” will premiere in theaters on June 19.
