Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has collected five Super Bowl appearances, three Super Bowl rings, three Super Bowl MVP awards, and two AP NFL MVP awards since becoming the starter in 2018.
Over the past eight years, Mahomes has also gotten married to his high school sweetheart, Brittany, and welcomed three children, Sterling, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, and Golden.
They were all present when Mahomes signed a monster contract extension that restores him as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback and ties him to the Chiefs through the 2033 season. Bronze was more impressed by the decor at One Arrowhead Drive in Kansas City.
In a video posted by the Chiefs, Bronze spots a photo of Taylor Swift on the wall and proclaims, “It’s Taylor!” The three-and-a-half-year-old also adorably says, “It’s Dada!”
As a generational world-famous pop star, Swift is recognizable to most people, but the Mahomes family has come to know the 14-time Grammy winner personally. Swift has been dating Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce since the summer of 2023, and they’re reportedly set to get married in New York City on July 3.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Mahomes’ contract carries a $504.75 million base value over the next eight years, and Breer broke down how the money distributes in each of those eight years. ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport initially reported that Mahomes’ new deal marks the first NFL contract valued at over half a billion dollars.
Mahomes suffered a torn ACL and LCL last December, but he has shattered every typical benchmark in rehabilitation and is on track to start Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” on Sept. 14. He and the Chiefs will look to put their uncharacteristic 6-11 finish from last year behind them and return to their dynastic ways.
