An off-duty NYPD officer was stabbed in the hand by a stranger as he walked with a friend in Queens early Wednesday, cops and sources said.
The victim, 30, was strolling with a pal on Bell Boulevard near 39th Avenue in Bayside around 12:50 a.m. when two men he did not know approached him from behind, according to authorities and law enforcement sources.
One of them said something in Spanish, but the victim didn’t understand him, the sources said.
The suspect then displayed a knife and stabbed him in the right hand, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, and the suspects fled north on Bell Boulevard, cops said.
The duo – one last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans and the other in a red shirt and blue jeans – were still on the loose hours later, authorities said.
