It was a beary dangerous stunt.
A smiling Alaska fisherman casually shot selfie footage of himself feet away from a massive mother grizzly who was devouring salmon near their boat.
Carter Brown, who was the guide on a chartered boat on a river in Soldotna when he spotted the bear on the prowl and started recording.
In the viral clip, Brown is seen smirking at the camera as the bear zeroes in and feasts on his catch right behind him, while another bear watches from further out.
“She finds a piece of salmon while foraging and eats it right next to my head!” Brown told Storyful. “My clients were mind-blown.”
Brown remained abnormally calm during the nail-biting encounter. The veteran fisherman says dramatic moments like this are “a part of life” in this remote stretch of Alaska.
The video has made the rounds online, with viewers marveling at the bear’s fishing skills and Brown’s unbothered demeanor.
