Police in Georgia charged 18-year-old Kingston Lammar Bradley with malice murder Friday after allegedly discovering trash bags filled with dismembered remains in the trunk of his car.
Witnesses spotted Bradley walking in his apartment complex with a container, and when he realized he was seen, he dropped the container and ran into his apartment, Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt said during a news conference Friday.
Witnesses called the police after finding human remains inside the container, Holt said.

Police had previously responded to his home after a missing woman’s family reported her car and phone were at the location, Holt said, but they did not execute a search warrant.
After the witnesses found the human remains, police returned with a search warrant for Bradley’s car and found a garbage bag pulled tightly, “showing the outline of a body part,” according to a news release from the department.

Police called the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office, which confirmed the bags contained human remains.
Smyrna Police Chief Keith Zgonc identified the victim as Shanteria “KT” Mosley, whose family reported her missing.

Holt confirmed Mosley was a DoorDash worker, noting the company told police she had not been working on the day she went missing, according to a report from affiliate FOX 5 Atlanta.
DoorDash told People Magazine her account was last active on Tuesday.
Police do not yet know what connection Bradley had to the victim, Holt said.
“This is a shocking crime, I don’t know how else to describe it. I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases and I’ve worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime,” Holt said during the news conference.
“I cannot imagine what the family is going through,” she added.

Police are still actively looking for other human remains, Holt said.
Bradley is facing additional charges for concealing the death of a person.

Holt said police had been called to Bradley’s apartment multiple times in the past for domestic disputes, but said nothing indicated he was capable of a murder of this nature.
Bradley appeared in Cobb County Magistrate Court on Thursday, where a judge denied him bond, according to FOX 5. His next court hearing is scheduled for October.
