Rumors have been swirling about a fourth season of Ted Lasso for months, but it has now officially been confirmed by Apple TV+ that we will, in fact, see the biscuit-loving coach return to our screens.
“Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+ in a press release. “Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”
You read that right. Jason Sudeikis will return in the titular role, but who will be joining him? That’s a mystery. Right now, Sudeikis is the only cast member confirmed to be returning for the fourth season.
Fans of the show will be pleased to hear that Brett Goldstein will serve as writer and executive producer. He is joined by Leanne Bowen, who also will write on the season and executive produce.
Ted Lasso was a hit when it landed on Apple TV+ in 2020. The record-breaking series became the most Emmy-nominated comedy series in its first season and landed back-to-back wins in the Outstanding Comedy Series category at the Emmys for its first two seasons.
Fans expected season three to be the last we’d see of Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso when he made the tough decision to move home to the United States to be with his son.

The only confirmed returning cast member for Ted Lasso season four is the man himself, Jason Sudeikis, but rumorssuggest we could also see a return of Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton and Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent.
What Is Ted Lasso Season 4 About?
We’re a long time from learning the details of what’s to come in season four, but Sudeikis has said:
“We all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap.’ In Season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to leap before they look, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Sudeikis also told Jason and Travis Kelce on their podcast ‘New Heights‘ that “Ted’s coaching a women’s team.”
