The Chicago Bears are bracing for a massive matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in “Sunday Night Football.” However, several of their key players received concerning updates before the game.
On Sunday, the team officially moved wide receivers DJ Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus to “questionable” status for tonight’s game. According to Adam Schefter’s report, both players are dealing with illnesses.
That news arrived after their teammates, defensive backs Nahshon Wright and Josh Blackwell, and linebacker D’Marco Jackson, were also on the injury report for illness.
Other players are on the injury list, including C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Rome Odunze, who was among Caleb Williams’ favorite targets throughout the season.

It’s currently unknown whether Moore, Zaccheaus, or Nashon Wright will be on the field for tonight’s crucial game. While Moore was a big hero in the Bears’ overtime win against the Green Bay Packers, Williams may have to rely on other options, including tight ends Cole Kmet and Coleston Loveland.
Along with that, Chicago received good news for their offense, as receiver Luther Burden III will return to the lineup for Sunday night’s game in San Francisco.
The Bears are facing a 49ers team with injury questions too, including tight end George Kittle, who was a question mark earlier this week. On the team’s injury report, Kittle is questionable for tonight’s game, along with wide receiver Ricky Pearsall.
That said, quarterback Brock Purdy has plenty of other options, too. He threw for five touchdowns in the team’s “Monday Night Football” win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Sunday’s game brings significant implications for both teams. Chicago needs to win their remaining games, including against San Francisco, to have a shot at getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC. However, they’d need the Seattle Seahawks to lose at least one game of their remaining two.
The 49ers can also win the No. 1 seed for the NFC playoff bracket. They’ll need to defeat the Bears in “Sunday Night Football” and then the Seattle Seahawks in their final game of the season to do so.
