The Buffalo Bills are on the hunt for their next head coach following the organization’s decision to fire longtime leader Sean McDermott last week.
The Bills suffered an overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of this year’s playoffs, ending what should’ve been an excellent Super Bowl opportunity for Josh Allen and his team. Now, Buffalo plans to interview one of Denver’s offensive coaches for their vacant head coaching job.
The Bills are expected to interview Broncos QBs coach/passing game coordinator Davis Webb, who served as a backup quarterback option behind Allen from 2019-21.
Because the Bills fired McDermott last week, they were unable to conduct a virtual first-round interview with Webb as he prepared the Broncos for Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. But with Denver’s 10-7 loss to New England, Webb is now free to pursue new coaching opportunities.
Had the Broncos beat the Patriots, the Bills would’ve had to wait until after the Super Bowl to speak with Webb.

Webb took over as the Broncos’ quarterbacks coach in 2023, one year before the team selected Bo Nix with their 12th overall pick. He was integral in Nix’s development, earning him a promotion to pass game coordinator under head coach Sean Payton prior to Denver’s 2025 campaign.
The Bills were pursuing another former NFL quarterback, Philip Rivers, for their head coaching job. But on Monday, Rivers removed his name from Buffalo’s coaching search.
