A man has been shot dead by police after officers were called to an incident in Yarra Junction on Wednesday night.Police said officers were called to an address on Warburton Highway after reports that a man was assaulting a woman about 5.30pm.“Two police officers attended the address and observed a man assaulting a woman,” police said in a statement issued late Wednesday.A police officer discharged their firearm after a confrontation, police said.Ambulance crews were called to the scene, but the man could not be revived.
