Charisma Carpenter has a huge crush on Dermot Mulroney — and she doesn’t care who knows it.
In a video shared via TikTok on Sunday, August 31, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, 55, confessed she is the actor’s “biggest fan.”
“Probably since, I don’t know, way before I was ever married. So I’m talking like My Best Friend’s Wedding,” Carpenter explained. “I just love him in that movie. He’s just a good guy.”
The pair were both attending the GalaxyCon Nightmare Weekend in Cleveland, Ohio, and Carpenter admitted she was surprised that Mulroney, 61, was in attendance.
“I really don’t know why Dermot Mulroney is here but it doesn’t matter because I am probably his biggest fan,” she said, later singing his praises as an actor. “It’s so hard because I think he’s so talented but I also think he’s so crushable at the same time.”
Carpenter was encouraged to tell Mulroney what a fan she is by her handler, who told her she should strike up a conversation with the Shameless star. As a result, the actress said she “ended up crashing his photo op and got a picture with him.”
She told Mulroney that she auditioned to play the role of his ex-wife on Chicago Fire, but didn’t get the part — and “later, [he] was like, ‘We’ll have to manifest working together.’”
“I’m like, no, no, you need to manifest being my husband,” she added. “But I didn’t say that. But that’s what I was thinking.”
Mulroney recently filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Prima Apollinaare, on June 23, 2025. The pair share daughters Mabel, 17, and Sadie, 15, and Mulroney requested spousal support from the Italian musician, 52.
Though the actor did not specify a date of separation, he noted that the pair married in 2010.
The duo worked together on the Fox game show We Are Family prior to their split, an experience Mulroney recalled during a February 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us,” he told the outlet at the time. “They knew Prima’s music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we’ve been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show. And then it was such an honor to be on a game show that helps other people and isn’t just fun and games, although we could not have had more fun.”
Carpenter was previously married to Damian Hardy from 2002 to 2008, and the pair share one son, Donovan Charles. She was most recently linked to singer Michael Rossi.
