Charlotte Flair’s career is a testament to her dominance in professional wrestling, marked by numerous championship reigns, legendary feuds, and even hosting WrestleMania.
With such a storied career, pinpointing her greatest match is a challenge. However, Flair herself has identified three standout bouts. In a recent interview with Adam Glyn, Flair named her Evolution 2018 match against Becky Lynch, her Survivor Series 2018 encounter with Ronda Rousey, and her WrestleMania 34 clash with Asuka as her greatest matches.
The WrestleMania 34 match against Asuka was highly anticipated, as Asuka entered with an undefeated streak, challenging Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Billed as a dream match, Flair ended Asuka’s streak with a Figure Eight leglock submission. It was a result that shocked many fans.
The Evolution match, a Last Woman Standing contest against Becky Lynch, took place at the landmark all-women’s pay-per-view event. Widely considered one of the best women’s matches in WWE history, it played a pivotal role in making Lynch’s “The Man” persona stand out.
The Survivor Series match against Ronda Rousey was a last-minute replacement after Becky Lynch suffered an injury. Flair, stepping in, delivered a highly physical contest that ended in disqualification.
The DQ happened when she attacked Rousey with a kendo stick. She followed it up with a post-match assault that showcased her aggressive side.
Flair had been sidelined since December 2023 due to a severe knee injury sustained during a match against Asuka. The injury involved tears to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, necessitating surgery and an extensive rehabilitation period.
She returned at the Royal Rumble and won the women’s Royal Rumble bout. Looking ahead, Flair is set to challenge Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Title at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
Rewrite: At a recent SmackDown event in Barcelona, Spain, Flair secured a victory over B-Fab but was attacked by Stratton. Many people expect to see Flair go over in the contest and win the title. She would earn yet another reign as a champion in WWE should she be able to do so as she continues to build her legacy.
