This crossover has Us swooning!
Rising country music star Dasha released the music video for her new single, “Like It Like That,” on Friday, August 22 — featuring none other than Love Island USA alum Rob Rausch.
The video opens with Dasha, 25, checking into the fictional Dashville Motel, where it becomes immediately clear that she’s a regular.
“What is this, night 42?” front desk clerk Barb, who’s on a first-name basis with Dasha, asks with all but an eye roll before using the credit card that the singer already has on file.
After retrieving the keys, Dasha struts into her room, does her makeup, shaves her legs, closes the curtains and unlocks the door as she waits for Rausch, another employee at the motel, to sneak in.
Sure enough, Rausch, 26, shows up with a bottle of wine and immediately climbs into Dasha’s bed, where she serenades and teases him.
“You must be doin’ somethin’ / Keep me comin’ right back,” she sings, signaling that this isn’t the pair’s first rendezvous.
As the video progresses, Dasha finds herself returning to the motel over and over again — and ending up in bed with Rausch each time.
At the end, Barb asks Dasha whether she’s “finally checking out,” but upon seeing Rausch in a tank top behind the front desk, Dasha licks her lips and decides to stay “one more night.”
“I bet I can guess why,” Barb (played by blues singer Marcus King‘s wife, Briley) replies, crossing her arms in suspicion.
“Like It Like That” is the third single from Dasha’s upcoming album, following “Not at This Party” and “Oh, Anna!”
“‘Like It Like That’ is about letting go of that pressure to get love ‘right’ and embracing the moments that don’t fit the plan,” she said in a statement. “At this point in my life, I’m not trying to have it all figured out — sometimes the so-called wrong person is exactly right for right now.”
Dasha (real name Anna Dasha Novotny) continued, “I think there’s so much pressure to meet The One and get it right on the first try, especially for women, but I’m 25. I’m not looking for perfection; I’m looking for good stories and chasing feelings that I can get songs out of. I have no idea what I’m doing half the time, and I’m still learning parts of myself. I think everyone my age is doing the same. I don’t want to meet my person yet; I’m not ready for that chapter of life yet. No pressure, no plan, just whatever makes your heart skip a couple of beats and reminds you that that’s what living is supposed to feel like sometimes. Letting things be what they are and, heck, maybe that’s smoking a cigarette with a man who can only be a bad idea at 2 a.m.”
Dasha’s collaboration with Rausch — who appeared on seasons 5 and 6 of Love Island USA and will also compete on the upcoming fourth season of The Traitors — dropped after romance rumors swirled around the duo in real life.
After being spotted together at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards last September, Dasha and Rausch exchanged flirty Instagram comments on a shirtless photo of the reality star in December.
