A cowardly creep tried to hide his face from cameras Friday night after cops busted him for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in the stairwell of a Brooklyn public housing building a day earlier.
Eric McMichael, 27, wearing a gray plaid shirt, gray shorts, and thick white tights, hunched his torso forward to dodge the flashing cameras as cops dragged him out of Brooklyn’s Special Victims precinct and hauled him off to jail on rape and sex abuse charges for viciously attacking the young girl.
The accused predator approached the preteen and grabbed her as she entered her Cooper Houses building on Morgan Avenue near Jackson Street in Williamsburg around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The brute, a complete stranger, told the youngster, “I’m going to violate you” as he shoved her to the ground and ordered her to bend over before carrying out the heinous sexual assault, sources said.
The Brooklyn perv then ran off when another person appeared in the stairwell, police and sources said.
The young victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police — who had released photos of the violent fiend while hunting him down — arrested McMichael Friday afternoon and charged him with two counts of rape, burglary, two counts of sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.
McMichael has four prior convictions, including rape and burglary in 2019, police said, according to NBC News 4.
He was also hit with grand larceny and robbery charges in 2023.
