Platinum-selling artist D4vd took to the stage last night, continuing with his Withered World Tour, after a body in a bad state of decomposition was found by the Los Angeles Police Department in a city impound lot, in a Tesla registered to the singer.
Newsweek has reached out to a representative for D4vd, the Los Angeles Police Department, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner outside of regular working hours for comment.
The Context
On Monday, Los Angeles police were called to an impound lot on N. Mansfield Ave., due to a “foul odor,” which was coming from a vehicle, according to a police statement cited by NBC News.
The LAPD previously told Newsweek that detectives found “possible human remains” and are conducting a death investigation, adding it did not have information on the owner of the vehicle.
The Tesla, which had Texas license plates, was registered to David Anthony Burke, the real name of the singer D4vd, as per Rolling Stone.
The victim was a female who was in a severe state of decomposition, according to Rolling Stone, which cited a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The victim had been in the vehicle for an extended period of time, and authorities were unable to determine her age or race. The car had reportedly been abandoned for at least five days.
NBC News reported that the singer has been informed about what has happened and that he is cooperating with authorities, citing a statement from a spokesperson for him. That statement noted that the singer is still currently out on tour.
