President Donald Trump on Monday planned to sign an executive order targeting “exploitative ticket scalping” and pushing for reforms in the U.S. live entertainment ticketing industry, according to a White House fact sheet obtained by Reuters.
The order instructs Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to ensure that ticket resellers are fully complying with IRS tax regulations and other relevant laws, the fact sheet said.
The order instructs the Federal Trade Commission to collaborate with the U.S. Attorney to ensure that antitrust laws are properly enforced within the concert and entertainment industry, according to the document.
This is a developing news story and will be updated as more information is available.
