The Golden State Warriors recorded a 109-106 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday evening, once again winning without their star player, Steph Curry.
Curry has been sidelined since last month as he recovers from a knee injury, which has required a reevaluation every several weeks. Since Jimmy Butler’s season ended in January and the team recently lost another player, Moses Moody, to a season-ending injury, having their star back could make a big difference.
Although the Warriors have secured a play-in spot in the Western Conference, there have been more than a few individuals suggesting it might be better if he shuts his season down, rather than rushing back to the court.
After Golden State’s win over Brooklyn, Draymond Green shared his thoughts on the matter, revealing whether he believes Steph should return for the team, as their regular season ends next month.

According to the four-time Warriors champion, his teammate needs to have zero doubts that there’ll be further risks if he returns to play, and if not, then he should focus on getting healthy for next season.
“It’s a slippery slope telling a guy who loves to play basketball, ‘You can’t play basketball,’ and they feel like they’re healthy enough to play basketball,” Green said. “I think if there’s an inkling of a doubt with his knee, no, I don’t. But if he’s healthy and can play, absolutely, because that’s what you put the work in for.”
“You don’t know how many opportunities you get,” Green said, reminding everyone that Steph got hurt last year, too.
He indicated he would be out there “if he’s healthy,” reiterating that if an “inkling of a doubt” exists, it’s possible that fans won’t see the Warriors star back this season because he wouldn’t want to “risk” his health with the injury.
Curry stopped playing as of Jan. 30 due to right knee patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising. After aggravating his knee against the Pistons, he missed over 20 games now for the Warriors, heading towards the end of March.
Just recently, Green and Curry saw their teammate, Moses Moody, go down with a painful knee injury in an overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks. Moody’s season ended due to a torn patellar tendon, just a few months after the Warriors lost star Jimmy Butler to a torn ACL injury.
As of this writing, the Golden State is 35-38 overall and has clinched a play-in spot in the Western Conference, with nine games left in its season.
