Police say a man died from his injuries while receiving treatment from paramedics, after they found a woman dead inside the same house in Melbourne’s east.
Emergency services were called to a property on Kaye Court in Dandenong North just before 1.30pm on Friday.
They said an 81-year-old man found outside the house was treated for injuries but died at the scene.
Around the same time, officers said they located a deceased 80-year-old woman inside the house.
It’s understood the incident is being treated as a murder-suicide.
Officers said the pair were known to each other, and that they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
Nearby resident Panagiota Giouzelis said she wasn’t home when emergency services arrived, but that an elderly couple lived at the address.
“I’ve lived here for 40 years, it’s a very quiet street,” she said.
Police remained on the scene well into Friday night.
