Endersby’s son Jack is facing 23 separate fraud charges over allegations he scammed investors across Australia out of about $2.5 million in an alleged Ponzi scheme which dates back to 2019, with Newby among the almost two dozen alleged victims.
The 24-year-old was charged in May over his grandmother’s investment in that business.
Newby told 9 News Perth the situation had created deep division within the family, with Endersby’s court appearance marking the first time his sister Kym has seen him in two years.
“This situation has stemmed from the reliance and trust I had in my son’s assurances at the time,” she said.
“[This situation] has caused me profound distress and has created a deep division within our family which I can only hope for a quick resolution to try and preserve family bonds.”
