Amon has pleaded not guilty and been committed to stand trial on five counts of having sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 10 and 14, two counts of indecent assault of a person under 16, two counts of attempted sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 10 and 14, and committing an act of indecency with a person under 16.
The 35-year-old quit NSW parliament in August hours after being charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy in Mona Vale in 2017.
Amon was refused police bail to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday.
The child sex charges against Amon relate to two alleged incidents in a car park bathroom in 2017, when he was a Northern Beaches councillor.
Prosecutors allege Amon and the boy first met on the “gay hook-up website Squirt.org”, before the conversation moved to Snapchat.
The teenager allegedly lied about his age to establish a profile, and allegedly told Amon he was 15.
“The complainant initially thought that the accused was in his early to mid-20s, but believes that he was later told by the accused that he was 17 years old,” prosecutors allege.
