Bishop Dyer, formerly known as Baron Corbin in WWE, made his first appearance for AEW on Wednesday night in Orlando, Florida. The former United States Champion competed in an eight-man tag team dark match prior to the live broadcast of Dynamite.
Dyer teamed with the faction Better Together (Hadar Horvitz & Ori Gold) and Martin Stone in a losing effort against Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Brady Booker, and Elijah Drago. It remains unclear if this appearance was a one-off tryout or the beginning of a full-time run with the promotion.
The debut comes just weeks after AEW personality Paul Wight publicly endorsed Dyer as a perfect fit for the company. Speaking in December, the wrestling legend opined that the former “Lone Wolf” had the specific skills needed to elevate the AEW roster.
“When I look at people that can help AEW, Tom is a guy that I think could help our product. If we give Tom the right character, he could be such a great heel for us,” Wight stated at the time.

While his AEW future is being determined, Dyer remains active elsewhere in the wrestling landscape. He is currently one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions alongside fellow WWE alumnus Donovan Dijak.
Dyer’s WWE tenure officially ended in November 2024 when his contract expired, concluding a 12-year run with the sports entertainment giant. Since then, the 41-year-old has reinvented himself on the independent circuit, working singles matches and tag bouts across various promotions.
He is already scheduled for major appearances later this spring, including the “ROH x Maple Leaf Pro Global Wars Canada” show on March 27 and MLW’s “Uprising” event the following night. These dates suggest that even if he signs with AEW, he will likely maintain a presence in partner promotions.
With his AEW debut now in the books, speculation will turn to whether Dyer appears at the company’s next major pay-per-view. AEW Revolution is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, marking the promotion’s return to the venue for the second consecutive year.
