Joey Chestnut looks to reclaim his rightful throne after a year away from the world-famous eating competition, as reigning champion Patrick Bertoletti tries to prove the 58 hot dogs he took down in 2024 were not a fluke.
It will take an impressive score to best the greatest competitive eater of all time, and the last time Chestnut won in 2023, he ate 62 hot dogs. The 16-time champion is capable of eating 76 in the span of 10 minutes, but is starting to slow down a bit now that he is in the later stages of his career.
Now might be the time for Bertoletti to gun for taking down the champ. Chestnut might be a bit rusty after being away from the competition.
Miki Sudo has established herself as a powerhouse on the women’s side, increasing her total by 11.5 hot dogs from 2023 to 2024. She is a ten-time champion in her own right, and the only year she has not won since 2014, she sat out of the event. Her 51 dogs in 2024 is the all-time record in the Women’s Division.
This is a great Fourth of July event that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
