These teams last met on Feb. 21, with Yale winning a close one 92-88. Yale’s Nick Townsend had a huge game, scoring a team-high 24 points on 7-for-10 shooting while also pulling down 11 rebounds. He added five assists and a steal as well. Casey Simmons also hit the 20-point mark, scoring 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
Cornell was led by AK Okereke’s 30 points and seven assists, while Jake Fiegen added 23 points and went 6-for-13 from deep. It wasn’t enough, though, as the Big Red fell by four.
On Saturday in the semifinals, Cornell beat Dartmouth 87-71, while Yale took down Princeton 59-57, just barely staving off a huge upset.
