The four No. 1 seeds will be announced on Sunday night, with South Carolina, UCLA, USC, and Texas the favorites to earn those seeds, though UConn – the No. 3 ranked team in the country – could sneak in over either Texas or USC.
There will also be plenty of drama about who the final teams to earn a top-16 slot and the rights to host this upcoming weekend’s games. Many bracketology predictions have a 10-loss Ole Miss team earning the final seed, but teams like Alabama and West Virginia could have a shot as well.
One key storyline to watch is whether the Ivy League earns three bids for the first time. The Ivy League Tournament featured several close games, no team felt like they stood out as an option to fall out of the field. Columbia should get one of the final at-large spots, while the 68th spot in the field is likely to come down to either Princeton getting in as the third Ivy League team or Virginia Tech grabbing a spot despite a weak end to the season.
