Anything is possible.
Technically speaking, women have a biological clock — but moms like Grace Collins are giving hope to those who feel pressure to have children by a certain age.
Collins just gave birth to her third child at 51 — and doesn’t have any regrets.
The 51-year-old didn’t meet her one true love until she was 40.
After she got married at 42, the mom of three assumed at that stage in life she couldn’t get pregnant easily — so she told TODAY, that the couple “jumped into IVF.”
“I knew that time was not my friend,” Collins said. “We built our family using a lot of love and a lot of medical science.”
While many women in their 40s would be hesitant to physically and mentally take on the toll of infertility treatment — Collins said her age actually worked in her favor, according to TODAY.
“My age helped me in the sense of being more in tune with my body, knowing that I have to be compliant with the doctors’ orders,” said Collins.
“It helps me be motivated to take better care of myself,” the mom went on to say.
Despite her first pregnancy being the most difficult one, Collins said the third time around was easy — “everything was normal.”
Wanting to share her “age is just a number” story with other women — Collins is active on TikTok, posting videos talking about her experience being pregnant at 51.
“For all those wondering, I feel pretty good. I’m tired…every pregnant woman gets tired,” she said in one of her now-viral videos.
Her simple sentiment of sharing that it’s completely normal for all moms to feel tired — despite their age — clearly resonated with many.
Her video — which has garnered three million views — has over 14,000 encouraging comments from other women.
“My mother was 61 two days after I was born, and my Father was 73. They were AMAZING parents. The BEST I could have ever had. God truly blessed me. You’re going to DO GREAT!” one person shared.
“Congrats! My mom had my sister at 50 (I was in college and have an older sister). Baby sis now 29, has multiple degrees, expecting a baby herself, and our parents are alive and active — dad 83, mom 79,” wrote another commenter.
“I had my first baby at 47. You go girl,” said someone else.
Collins is obviously not the first — certainly won’t be the last — woman to have a child later in life.
Despite all odds against her, a woman in Germany — who was already a mom of nine — gave birth at age 66 without help from in vitro fertilization.
Another woman named “Em” gave birth at 51 to two babies while undergoing menopause, while a 67-year-old woman in China previously had a healthy girl.
