Can you find a word?
Crossword and word search puzzles are expected to be challenging. But one in particular, designed for children, funny enough, is stumping people left and right, leaving many wondering if it’s even real.
In the r/mildlyinfurating forum on Reddit, one user posted a photo of the impossible puzzle, asking other Redditors if they could find a single word noting, “This has to be a joke or it’s generated and not checked by a human, there’s no way a person could mess up this badly surely!”
Almost 3,000 people chimed in on the comment section, validating the original poster’s initial thoughts.
“CTUNT nearly got me…” one defeated user wrote.
“Does ‘choc’ count as a word?” a hopeful user asked.
“Aperzux Shkbyx Eqqjum Tarrot Leliq. Dunno what you mean, seems legit,” joked a commenter.
“It’s like there were nearly words there, like someone had given it a go but didn’t understand how to add the letters in properly,” read another frustrated comment.
While some desperate people were able to find a word here or there, most weren’t in a straight line, which goes against word puzzle rules, or they weren’t one of the words on the list.
“If we are going by those rules. I found faith. Just wraps around the left of s–t,” a commenter pointed out.
“… But I did find ‘hole’ however, not in the word list!” read a comment.
“Found 8 words before realising there was a specific list… none of those are there though,” quipped another commenter.
While many wondered if this puzzle was a result of AI gone wrong, others had a different theory: “… it’s more likely it’s just the wrong puzzle or key. These things are generated programmatically not with AI,” a valid point made since way before AI, people were able to use various websites to create their own word puzzle.
And while this nearly impossible puzzle left many adults scratching their heads, the bright side is that it’ll occupy naive kids for hours.
This would have worked wonders on kid me, I would have searched and searched for hours!” someone pointed out.
“This gives me an idea for a book with searches that are purposely made to not have any way to solve them and give them to kids so parents can enjoy a few minutes of quiet,” a genius idea of a comment read.
