Jason Kelce is all of Us as Taylor Swift makes her podcast debut.
“Oh my god, there’s 976K watching this live, what in the actual f***,” the former Philadelphia Eagles Center wrote via X on Wednesday, August 13, as his podcast episode featuring his brother and cohost, Travis Kelce, and his pop star girlfriend Swift finally hit the airwaves.
During the long-requested and highly anticipated podcast episode, Swift revealed the cover – and later the track list – of her equally anticipated 12th album, titled Life of a Showgirl. At the time of publication more than 1.3 million tuned in to hear the episode live.
“It was something that I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras Tour. I just love it. I just love it a lot,” Swift said of the record during the episode. “I love music.”
The singer noted that she would fly to Sweden amid tour breaks to record the upcoming record.
“Working on this, I was physically exhausted, at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,” she continued, adding that she worked with her self-described “mentor” Max Martin and Shellback for the new record.
“We’ve made songs that I’m so proud of,” she added. “We’ve never made an album before where it’s just the three of us. It felt like catching lightning in a bottle, honestly.”
During her debut, Swift made a point to thank her boyfriend and his brother’s podcast for all it has given her in both her professional and personal life.
“This podcast has done a lot for me,” Swift said in the opening moments of the episode. “This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago.”
She recalled Travis going on “New Heights” to express his disappointment about not meeting her at Arrowhead Stadium during her Kansas City Eras Tour stop in 2023, telling Jason, “It was such a wild romantic gesture to just be like, ‘I want to date you!’ At first when I looked at it, I was like, ‘This dude didn’t get a meet and greet and he’s making it everyone’s problem.’ He didn’t even reach out to our management! When this podcast came out I was like, ‘Did he ever reach out to be in the tents or did we know he was in the building?’”
She continued, “He came with Patrick Mahomes and he thought that because he knows the elevator lady that he could just talk to her about getting [backstage]. That’s how it works in 1973.”
While discussing the Eras Tour, Swift, Travis and Jason argued over whether or not the singer qualifies as an “athlete.” The conversation and playful back-and-forth was reminiscent of Travis’ latest remarks in a cover story for GQ, released on Tuesday, August 12.
“She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete,” the tight end told the outlet. “But I’ve seen what she goes through. I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.”
