Meredith Gaudreau had her oldest son, Johnny Gaudreau Jr., baptized in a special outfit — the one his dad bought him last year.
Meredith shared photos from the big day via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 7. In one picture featuring all three of the pair’s children clad in white outfits (Meredith is also wearing a white dress), she credited her late husband, Johnny Gaudreau, for “picking out Johnny’s outfit last summer, got me these shoes for Christmas in 2023.”
She continued: “And he bought Noa her shoes that I keep rebuying in bigger sizes 🤍. Wore this dress to my bridal shower.”
Meredith shared a second photo that showed Johnny Jr.’s younger brother, Carter, who appeared to be concerned as his older brother had water poured on his head during the baptism. “Yes, Carter u next,” she captioned the photo.
Johnny, 31, and his brother, Matthew, 29, were killed by a drunk driver while riding bicycles in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, in August 2024.
Meredith and Johnny’s youngest son was born on April 7. “Another baby boy 🥹💙. Carter Michael Gaudreau — same middle name as his daddy. 8lb 3 ounces, 20.5 inches — exact same as his daddy. He looks exactly like his daddy too 🥰,” she wrote via Instagram.
She added, “I love you so much my baby! We are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever.” The pair also share daughter Noa, 2.
Meredith announced she was pregnant with Carter at the memorial service for Johnny and Matthew. “We’re actually a family of five,” Meredith said during a eulogy for Johnny. “I’m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby. A total surprise, but again, John was beaming and so excited.”
“I was so nervous because this was, again, a total surprise,” Meredith added. “But his reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me even though I was driving the car. After the initial excitement sank in, every time he looked at me, he would say, ‘You’re nuts, you know that? Three kids?’”
Despite the grief that came with his death, Meredith also said she was grateful for her family. “Noa, our oldest, hasn’t even turned 2 yet,” she said at the time. “In less than three years of marriage, we’ve created a family of five. It doesn’t even sound possible. But I look at it as the ultimate blessing. How lucky am I to be the mother of John’s three babies? Our last one being a blessing and so special, despite these difficult circumstances.”
She concluded: “To my babies, Daddy loves you all so much and you have the best daddy in the world.”
