The Valspar Championship is underway, and one of the biggest names in the sport put on a crazy performance with his series of shots.
Jordan Spieth has a resume that includes three major wins in PGA competition, including The Masters, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship. However, he’s struggled in more recent outings, with one of his last big wins in the PGA coming at 2022’s RBC Heritage.
He’s hoping to get back on track at the Valspar, which began on Thursday at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club near the Copperhead Course near Tampa, Florida.
While Spieth’s struggles seemed to continue on the course, fans and Spieth reacted to an interesting sequence of highlights that may suggest he’s rediscovering his championship form.

On X (formerly Twitter), a collection of highlights features Spieth hitting a drive way to the right, with it landing just over a nearby crowd of spectators and near the trees.
He follows that by chipping it from off a tree root, before slipping while on his approach shot.
However, he then connects on a bomb of a shot, which helps him achieve a birdie on the course, much to the amazement of the spectators and Spieth.
“Whatever that was, it was old, and it came out. It could have been way worse,” a commentator says regarding Spieth’s near-disastrous series of plays.
“What is happening here?” Spieth even asks as he tries to figure himself out during the sequence.
“Great to see his putting mojo back. He needs to keep doing this and he’ll be back to 2015 form. I’m rooting for him,” a commenter wrote.
Another said, “Watching anyone other than Jordan and Scotty is usually boring.”
“The Jordan Spieth Experience” and “Classic Jordan Spieth,” others wrote as replies to the X comments.
Others commented, “I can’t quite tell if that’s down to luck or skill,” and “He has to be the absolute greatest bad golfer of all time time.”
Heading into the third round, Im Sung-jae led David Lipinsky by one stroke at the Valspar with two rounds remaining. Spieth was tied for 16th on the Valspar Championship leaderboard with about 15 other golfers.
However, if he keeps reaching into his bag for these performances from back in the day, he may soon be back on track for big wins. With The Masters approaching next month, that could be a very good sign for the event’s 2015 winner.
