Don’t count Katie Ginella out of The Real Housewives of Orange County just yet.
Although the Bravo star found herself on the outs with the cast after “failing” a lie detector test, Katie, 41, has high hopes to reunite with the ladies at the season 19 reunion taping.
“I would love to be at the reunion,” Katie exclusively told Us Weekly before the Thursday, September 4, episode of Bravo’s reality show. “They asked me to be at BravoCon, which I’m really excited about. A lot of [my costars] are saying, ‘If Katie comes back, I won’t.’ So I mean, maybe, we should just all read the comments and see who they want to come back.”
If Katie has the chance to attend the reunion with her costars, including Emily Simpson, Jennifer Pedranti, Heather Dubrow, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Gretchen Rossi and Gina Kirschenheiter, she hopes to receive some apologies.
“I’m actually putting the reunion off on a file folder in the back of my head because it’s not soon, thankfully,” she said. “And also, it’s just a very daunting thing. I don’t think I need anything cleared up. I think I need some apologies.”
From Katie’s perspective, Real Housewives of Orange County viewers have been very supportive and encouraging of her this season.
Given the positive reaction from fans, Katie is surprised some costars haven’t reached out to start a conversation.
“I said very recently, I thought I would get more feedback from them as in, ‘Hey, this didn’t look good. I could have handled it a different way. I’m sorry,’” Katie shared. “It’s been crickets.”
In a separate interview with Us, Tamra, 58, revealed she has recently DMed with Katie and agreed that “fans love her.”
During the August 28 episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Katie’s future with the show was questioned when Emily, 49, kicked her out of a party following a lie detector test about her alleged involvement with reality TV commentator Kiki Monique. (Katie has maintained she was being truthful during the cast event.)
“No one is going to believe me but I can lay my head at night knowing I told the truth,” she shared during a confessional interview. “This might be the last time anyone sees me with this group of women.”
Us has learned that Katie doesn’t film another scene with the entire cast for the rest of season 19.
Despite a difficult season, Katie is grateful for the support of her family, including husband Matt Ginella. She has also received encouragement from other Housewives from different franchises.
“They are very helpful and very kind, but unfortunately, it’s a singular thing,” Katie explained without naming names. “Nobody’s experience is the same.”
One friendship Katie still hopes to rebuild is her bond with Jennifer, 48.
“We were really good friends and even our kids became friends,” she explained. “I really was hoping that we could have these petty arguments about ‘I saw your dress at Neiman Marcus.’ But it would never be this deep. It was just all around very, very hurtful.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
