The San Francisco 49ers are running out of healthy bodies.
Six quarters into the 2025 season, and the 49ers have seen a rash of injuries take out some of their top offensive stars including quarterback Brock Purdy, wide receivers Jauan Jennings, Jacob Watkins, and Jacob Cowing, plus tight end George Kittle.
And now, San Francisco will be without another of its top offensive stars for the second half of Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints after it was revealed fullback Kyle Juszczyk was ruled out after exiting in the first quarter.

“#49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk is out for the remainder of the game with a concussion,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote on X.
Juszczyk entered the blue medical tent late in the first quarter to be evaluated before heading to the locker room moments later.

His loss is a significant blow to the 49ers offense, which was already playing shorthanded. Juszczyk plays multiple positions because of his versatility, lining up in the backfield as a runner, blocking as a fullback, and filling in at tight end with Kittle out for the next four weeks.
He had one reception for five yards at the time of his injury. Juszczyk has 282 career catches, 2,696 yards, and 18 touchdowns throughout his 12-year-plus NFL career.
Juszczyk wasn’t the only injury the 49ers suffered in the first half. Offensive lineman Benjamin Bartsch also left with an ankle injury and is questionable to return.
Bartsch, who started at left guard, had his ankle rolled up on during the first quarter. He walked off the field on his own but was noticeably limping. Iowa rookie Connor Colby stepped in after Bartsch’s exit.
Despite entering the locker room more banged up than when they started, the 49ers held a 16-7 lead at halftime.
